Auf dem Rückweg von Rügen nach Berlin machen wir noch einen Abstecher zur Insel Usedom, der Badewanne Berlins. Sie heißt so, weil sie relativ schnell (drei Stunden Fahrzeit) von Berlin aus erreichbar ist. Wir besuchen die Orte Ahlbeck und Heringsdorf. Außerdem machen wir noch einen Besuch in Polen: Swinemünde. Die Stadt war früher deutsch und liegt auch auf der Insel Usedom. Auf Usedom findet man noch prächtigere Häuser als auf Rügen. Grund: die Insel war früher das bevorzugte Sommerziel von Kaiser und Königen. Somit fuhren auch viele Wohlhabende dorthin, um in der Nähe des Monarchen zu sein. Usedom liegt südöstlich von Rügen im Mündungsdelta der Oder. On the way back from Rugen to Berlin we make a detour to the island of Usedom, the bathtub of Berlin.
